How do I?

If you live in Arlington, Pantego or Mansfield; work or attend school at Arlington ISD, Mansfield ISD, or UTA; work for the City of Arlington; or volunteer eight hours a month, we offer free cards. Other options are available for those that still would like a library card.

APPLY ONLINE or APPLY IN PERSON
Anyone over the age of 18 can apply for a library card by filling out an application in person in the Kennedale Public Library. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian apply for a library card for themselves and then agree to sponsor the minor.

It is possible for residents of other cities to obtain a library card for additional libraries. As an example, a resident of Mansfield can obtain an Arlington Public Library card. Doing so allows Mansfield residents to access any Arlington Public Library resource not available to Mansfield Public Library patrons.
To obtain an additional library card, follow the directions for the individual library you are interested in.
Need help with online resources?
All four libraries offer individualized help to get you started, either in person or over the phone. Contact your local library for help or to set up a computer training appointment.
Arlington Public Library and Grand Prairie periodically offer computer classes specifically on online resources. Check their calendars for more details:
Our libraries offer live help via online chat during Arlington Library's normal library hours.
Our online resources include databases, reference materials, learning tools, eBooks and more. Each library offers a different set of resources. If a resource is not available through your home library, you can get a library card at your neighboring library or contact us to request that your library add the resource.
