Rosalie Gilbert and Oscar Soler met and began performing together while both were pursuing Bachelor of Music degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Recently moved to Texas, they have performed as a duo for many years in states across the country including Maryland, Ohio, Colorado, Washington DC, and Wisconsin. Initially dubbed ROS/CAR by Rosie’s older brother, the name stuck. The couple married in July of 2010.
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Oscar had his solo debut at the age of seven with the Jovenes Arcos de Caracas. Since then he has performed regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player with groups in both Venezuela and the United States. Oscar has taught for many years as a Suzuki teacher and at the college level. Currently, he teaches Suzuki Strings in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD.
Originally from Washington, DC, Rosie has worked as a professional harpist, harp teacher, and arts administrator. Currently, she is the Cultural Arts Coordinator for the City of Mansfield as well as performing ocassionally with area ensembles and maintaining a small private teaching studio. The ROS/CAR Duo is happy to be living and working in Texas.

Part of the 2018 Applause Music Concert Series
Since 2013, The Applause New Music Fund (ANMF), has devoted itself to the outreach, dissemination, and promotion of new art music by living composers and ensembles whose primary focus is their music. Active in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, The ANMF, through the Applause Concert Series, has commissioned several composers, premiered more than 10 works, and presented concerts with ensembles ranging from soloist to large experimental laptop groups. Locations have included Mansfield, Arlington, and Ft. Worth in venues such as The Modern Museum of Art in Fort Worth, the University of Texas at Arlington, and New Hope Baptist Church.
