Mindstorm Robotics

Each Monday, students ages 9-14 can come learn to build and program a Lego Mindstorms EV3 robot. No previous robotics experience is necessary. Registration is not required, but space is limited to the first 15 attendees.

The robots to be built each session are:

  • Robot Arm - September 11 and October 16: A robotic arm that uses several motors to rotate left and right, move up and down, and open and close a claw.
  • Puppy - September 18 and October 23: A robotic puppy that lets you know if it's hungry, happy, or angry and reacts when you pet or feed it.
  • Color Sorter - September 25 and October 30: A robot that can recognize the color of different objects and sort them into groups.
  • Gyro Boy - October 2 and November 6: A robot that uses a gyroscopic sensor to balance itself on two wheels.
  • Znap - October 9 and November 13: A robot that drives around and reacts with a znap! when it detects a nearby object.
