GEAR Robotics Tournament Kick-off

GEAR 2017 Kick-off is here!

GEAR stands for Get Excited about Robotics. This fast-paced competition features NXT and EV3 Lego Mindstorm robots built and programmed by elementary and junior high students. Teams may consist of 2 or 3 players that can be as young as 8 years old, but no older than 8th grade. During the construction time, students face challenges that everyday engineers and scientists face. Robert Acosta, founder and CEO of GEAR Robotics, will be debuting the new game play for this year and game specific rules will be released at this event. So if you want to participate in this year's GEAR robotics tournament you won't want to miss this meeting!

The tournament will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at UTA's Nedderman Hall, hosted by Arlington Public Library. Competing teams will be judged on programming, creativity, team work, critical thinking skills, engineering, and all around achievement in the tournament.

For general rules about the competition, check the GEAR Robotics website.
