Learn about the different kinds of armor and weapon types, such as swords, axes and flails. Hear stories about the real Dracula, Vlad Dracul lll, and how he is still the hero of Transylvania, Learn the real stories about William Wallace and Joan of Arc. 13 Reasons Why You Matter: A Teen Mental Health Forum

This program, exclusively for teens in 9th - 12th grades, provides a safe space for youth to have an open conversation about problems that affect them everyday. This forum, moderated by mental health professionals, hopes to empower young adults to confront issues such as bullying, social media, and peer pressure.

Following the discussion, students are invited to participate in a self-reflective art and writing activity.

2017 Arlington Holiday Lights Parade

The 2017 Arlington Holiday Lights Parade will brighten Downtown Saturday, December 9!

Bring your friends and family to the Downtown/University District to enjoy the Annual Holiday Lights Parade. Thousands of people will gather for the pageantry which ends with the lighting of the Christmas tree on the steps of City Hall.

Don’t forget to bring your camera and your Arlington Public Library t-shirt and take a picture with Santa after the parade at the Levitt Pavilion in Founders Plaza at 100 W. Abram St.

Parade will continue as planned rain, snow, or shine …but not ice!

Graduation Cap Decorating

Upcoming high school graduates, join us at the Northeast Branch Arlington Public Library's Community Room to decorate your graduation cap. We'll be providing paint and other materials!

Random Act of Kindness Week

In 2017 the Mayor of Arlington, Mr. Jeff Williams, announced that Arlington would be participating in a Kindness Initiative and this program is intended to support that initiative with a library twist! Every day during the first week of April 2018 (4/2, 4/3, 4/4/, 4/5 & 4/6) we will be meeting at 4:30 p.m. at a different library locations throughout Arlington in order to spread kindness, good cheer and the library's giving spirit!

Throughout the course of this week please bring small items- soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, deodorant, etc. We will be assembling...
