Flood Insurance: What Property Owners Need to Know

Learn how to determine the risk of flooding in the City of Arlington and how you can purchase flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program. The class will include topics such as:

natural floodplain functions - maintaining this function reduces the overall risk of flooding flood risk - how to find out if your property is at risk and flood insurance - available to both residential and commercial areas outside the Special Flood Hazard areas

Presented by the Floodplain Administration of the Public Works and Transportation Department.

Painting in the Library for Adults

Join Mansfield Public Library in learning how to create beautiful works of art. Our painting instructor will teach you different techniques and methods to create some great watercolor paintings. Programs are limited to 18 & up and space is limited. Registration is required. Please note registration opens two weeks prior to the program.

PowerPoint for Beginners

Join us for Microsoft PowerPoint for beginners. Basic computer skills are necessary for this class. Please bring a flash drive if you would like to save your work. Program is free of charge and program is limited to ages 18+. Registration is required for this program. Please stop by the library or call at 817-728-3690 to register. Registration opens two weeks prior to the program.

Spanish for Beginners

This program is for non-native Spanish speakers who want to learn basic Spanish skills. Join us weekly on Tuesday's from 5-6 pm. Classes are free and no registration is required. Programs is limited to 18 & up.

Writing Group

A public venue in which like-minded writers may bring their work for input from fellow writers and, in turn, return the favor to their peers. These read-and-critique sessions will meet the first Monday of the month. This program is facilitated by Vikki Burke with the occasional experienced guest. It is our hope that participants will not only receive valuable feedback on their writing, but will also learn how to create great critique groups of their own.

Speaker Series: InspirED College Prep 101

The College Prep Presentation by InspireEd will be ideal for high school students and families. The presentation will look at the various steps students need to take in order to prepare for college including: financial aid, scholarships, and taking the ACT and/or SAT. Let Your Voice Be Heard: Register To Vote or Update Your Voter Information

Exercising the right to vote is one of the most powerful ways you can have a say in how your local, state, and federal governments are run. However, before you can participate in any election, you must first register to vote. It takes less than a minute to register! We will have volunteer deputy registrars at the library to help you figure out if you are already registered, determine if your information is up to date and assist you in getting registered. Program is free and no registration is required.
