Community Yard Sale

Join the Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library at their first Community Yard Sale. Library supporters can find a new treasure, or donate items to be included in the sale. The Yard Sale supports the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library.

The Community Yard Sale will take place on the front lawn and parking lot of the Literacy House on July 7 and 8, from 7:30 a.m. to noon on both days. Arrive early for the best selection!

The Friends and Foundation will accept donations at all library locations....

Gender and Sexuality in Comics

Presented by scholars at the University of Texas at Arlington this panel will focus on the depictions of GLBTQ+ characters in comics. Specifically, Amber Raley is presenting "Stereotype or Success? GLBTQ Characters in Comic Books" and Dr. Christopher Conway will be presenting "Gender in Mexican Comics". There will be time for question and answer period after the panel presentations.
