Gender and Sexuality in Comics

Presented by scholars at the University of Texas at Arlington this panel will focus on the depictions of GLBTQ+ characters in comics. Specifically, Amber Raley is presenting "Stereotype or Success? GLBTQ Characters in Comic Books" and Dr. Christopher Conway will be presenting "Gender in Mexican Comics". There will be time for question and answer period after the panel presentations.

Writer's Write-In with the Dallas Fort Worth Writers' Workshop

English Language Learners' Book Club

Whether you are in an ESL class and looking for more practice, waiting for the next semester of classes to begin, or looking to continue building fluency, the ESL Book Club is a great place to gather with us to read and discuss great books. In these groups, participants take turns reading aloud from interesting works and having conversations about them. With the guidance of the Club host, participants will develop vocabulary, work on pronunciation, and have a great time all-around!
