Gender and Sexuality in Comics

Presented by scholars at the University of Texas at Arlington this panel will focus on the depictions of GLBTQ+ characters in comics. Specifically, Amber Raley is presenting "Stereotype or Success? GLBTQ Characters in Comic Books" and Dr. Christopher Conway will be presenting "Gender in Mexican Comics". There will be time for question and answer period after the panel presentations.

Writer's Write-In with the Dallas Fort Worth Writers' Workshop

During this program the Dallas Fort Worth Writers' Workshop ( http://www.dfwwritersworkshop.org/ ) will be hosting a "write in” where they will provide timed writing prompts for different facets of writing like characterization, dialogue, etc., and attendees will do the writing in the room! English Language Learners' Book Club
